Community Disability Awareness Initiative
During a community sensitisation campaign, over 150 participants engaged in interactive discussions on disability inclusion and child protection. Post-event feedback indicated increased awareness of the rights of children with special needs and improved willingness among local stakeholders to support inclusive practices.
Many children with special needs experience stigma, discrimination, and exclusion within schools, communities, and social settings due to limited awareness and misconceptions about disabilities. Our Disability Awareness & Community Inclusion work promotes understanding, acceptance, and inclusion through community sensitisation campaigns, advocacy programmes, and stakeholder engagement.
We work to create communities where children with special needs are respected, protected, and given equal opportunities to participate — engaging schools, healthcare providers, community leaders, and disability advocates along the way.
Can your school or faith community host a sensitisation session? Reach out through our Contact page and we'll work with you to schedule one.
